Avenel will be playing away from home when it takes on Merrigum at Merrigum Recreational Reserve, but if locals are willing to make the hour’s drive down the road, they will have the opportunity to see an ex-AFL star in action.
Collingwood premiership player and Brownlow medallist Dane Swan will be running out for the Bulldogs at 2.15pm on Saturday.
Swan could be the difference for Merrigum in a game that sees two teams equal on the ladder pitted against one another.
