Albury 1.3.9 def by Yarrawonga 2.6.18
Two weeks after being knocked over at home by the Tigers, the boys took their chance to bite back. A magnificent display of team footy gave the Pigeons the upper hand for the majority of the low scoring affair.
In slippery conditions Ned Saunders put on a show. Moving from his usual forward line starting position to half-back seemed to suit the smooth mover.
At times, it seemed he had it on a string. His hands were clean and strong and his foot skills sublime. Supported by Harry Wren, Roley Brear and Taj Parker the backline was like a brick wall.
Ollie Seal provided run on the wing a defensive pressure throughout the entire game and Byron Dodd was in and under as always.
All in all, the boys showed great character to bounce back with such strength.
Goals: T Parker, T Renau.
Best: N Saunders, B Dodd, H Wren, T Parker, O Seal, R Brear.

The boys hit the road again on Sunday to vs St Pats at home. With tireless defence Yarra’s backline kept St Pats inside 50 scoring opportunities to a minimum, at the same time creating good run up the ground to allow the forwards plenty of chances at goal.
The last half was a much tighter game with St Pats throwing everything at Yarra.
Connor McCarty booted 3 majors in the Under 14s 109 point victory.

St Patricks 1.5.30 def by Yarrawonga 10.9.80.
The Pigeons Under 16s boys travelled to Albury this week to take on the St Patricks team. The boys knew this was a crucial match to win as it would guarantee a spot in the finals if they could bring home a victory.
The St Pats boys were desperate for their first victory of the season and started strongly taking the match write up the Yarra team.
St Pats had plenty of forward entries early however they were unable to convert their chances.
Yarra also battled hard and at half time managed to scrap their way to a 14 point lead.
After half time Yarra were able to open the game up and this showed on the scoreboard as they scored 7 unanswered goals in the second half.
Jace Gove had another outstanding game as he gathered numerous possessions over the ground, getting in and under the packs.
Braedan Bramich was proving elusive for the St Pats backline as he was often able to find plenty of space in the forward line, providing a great target for the midfield.
Will Thompson was also creating headaches for the St Pats team. Will seemed to have the ball on a string as it continuously ended up in his hands and with some slick handballs he able to set up some great team goals.
Charlie Rae kept up his great late season form with his hard attack on the ball. Archie Skehan also played a very polished game.
Archie was in the thick the action all over the ground, running hard and using his classy ball skills to hit targets up forward as well as score 2 goals of his own.
