More than 120 horses made the trip to Seymour for 14 800m and three 400m trial runs, with trainers coming from across the state.
The jump outs mark a milestone for the SRC following extensive scheduled maintenance on the track in the lead-up to a busy end-of-season schedule.
Trainers and jockeys provided positive feedback on the surface following months of hard work from the SRC’s track team.
SRC chief executive Chris Martin welcomed the opportunity to put the track through its paces.
“Jump outs are critical days for trainers to get a gauge on their horses’ progress, giving them a solid run before getting into serious racing,” Mr Martin said.
“We’re lucky enough to have great facilities here to hold jump outs and have strong demand for trial runs on the track.
“From all reports, the track performed well and looks in good shape ahead of racing returning next month.
“Brett and the team have worked hard to undertake extensive track maintenance, and it has certainly paid off, with everything looking top-notch.”
The SRC’s next full race meet is just over a month away, with the Puckapunyal Cup back on the schedule.
“Planning is well and truly under way for the Puckapunyal Cup, and we’re looking forward to a big day for our local Defence Force personnel,” Mr Martin said.
“We’ve got some great things planned for the day, which we’ll share in the near future.
“Friday racing is a fantastic way to relax before the weekend, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back to Kobyboyn Rd.”
