However, on Sunday when the Felines travelled to Wodonga to take on the Wodonga Bulldogs, the clouds lifted, the sun rediscovered its sparkling form and the Felines put on one of their best displays of football for the season.
Under 14s
The young Felines started the game very well taking the match right up to the Wodonga Bulldogs.
In the first quarter, both teams had the ball moving fluently across the field through some good running and improved skills.
At quarter time, both teams had several chances to kick goals, but they remained deal locked at 2 points each.
The second quarter was another great tussle with the Bulldogs managing to kick a goal to move out to the lead.
In the third quarter, the Felines through Amy Lowe, kicked a goal to get back into the match.
Once again, it was an exciting match with both teams having good attacking chances.
In the last quarter, the Bulldogs managed to take better advantage of their forward entries and kicked away lightly to win by 25 points.
The under 14 Felines continue to improve each week.
Throughout all passages of play, they are more than competitive and stay in the match for its duration.
Special thanks for Jamie Barnes for coming down to umpire the Felines. This was in more particularly so when his own daughter was not playing due to injury.
Wodonga Bulldogs 4.9-33 defeated Murray Felines 1.2-8

Under 17s
The Under 17s had a great win against Wodonga Bulldogs in the beautiful winter sunshine.
Special thanks to some of under 14 girls who played up for the Under 17 match Mars, Ash, and Abbey for playing up in the 17s and playing for the Bulldogs to bump up their numbers. The girl’s great sportsmanship and worked hard.
Also, to the other four girls who played with the Bulldogs, the Wodonga Bulldogs coaches really appreciate your good sportsmanship.
With the match never in doubt after the first quarter, the Coach, Brad Nicholson shuffled his team to have girls playing different roles in all areas of the field. The whole team all stepped up and their commitment throughout the match was undoubted.
Some excellent passages of team play led to some spectacular goals and some very near misses.
The way the girls are working as a team is impressive to watch, every week they get better and better.
Bring on the rest of the season and once our injured and unavailable girls are back.
Thanks to Wodonga Bulldogs for their hospitality.
They were also very proud to unveil their new rooms. The club rooms are fantastic, and the Felines are very jealous! It is an example of what can be achieved when the local council works harmoniously with the community groups to deliver great outcomes for the community. They are exactly what the Felines need.
