Despite the icy chill in the air, the girls brought the heat, delivering a performance to remember with a win.

In a close contest that had spectators on the edge of their seats (and the background noise of the BNS Ball adding to the chaos), the B-grade netballers dug deep to secure a hard-fought victory over Mathoura.

An outstanding win against Mathoura by 36 goals.
Despite the cold and windy conditions, the girls put on a brilliant team performance that couldn’t be faulted.
The shooters were once again in top form, combining seamlessly in the ring with sharp passing and smooth teamwork.
The mid-court players controlled the flow of the game, creating countless opportunities with clean intercepts and smart transitions.
In defence the girls were rock solid snatching intercepts and pulling in rebounds when the ball neared the circle.

A gallant effort in difficult conditions, going down to a determined Mathoura.
A slow first five minutes of the game set the team back and created a deficit they couldn’t reign in.
Windy freezing conditions and noise from the BNS made it tricky to hear the umpires at times, and crowding around the ball was a big problem.
The Dees steadied in the second half, making room and working as a team.
It was a big welcome back to best on court Evie Trethowan, who provided speed and pressure all over the court.
Ella Breen got another run in the shooting circle and earned herself an award for some great movement and leads, as well as sinking some great shots.
Brook Pitt received an award for her effort and determination, always trying her best and improving out of sight.

An amazing, nail-biting win against Mathoura.
With another chilly start to the day, both teams came out firing, desperate to secure a top four spot with finals just around the corner.
The Dees were down by two goals at quarter time, and again at half-time.
In the third quarter, they managed to take a three-goal lead at one point, but by the final break, they were once again trailing by two.
The girls fought hard in the last quarter, with the game neck and neck for most of the time.

The girls delivered an impressive performance, recording a win with a true team effort.
It’s been amazing to watch the growth with each game.

The atmosphere was inspiring, with both clubs coming together to honour and celebrate indigenous culture through sport.
It wasn’t just about the game, it was about unity, respect and connection.
In a wonderful show of community, some of the Jerilderie girls filled in for the Mathoura team, stepping onto the court with huge smiles and full of pride.
Their willingness to help and represent both clubs captured the spirit of the round, showing that sport goes far beyond the scoreboard.
