After two narrow losses in a row, Shepparton United will be pulling out all the stops to rediscover its early-season Central Victorian League league one men’s form on Sunday.

United, who lost 3-2 to Shepparton South in round five and 1-0 to Tatura in round four, has been unlucky in recent weeks and will be hungry to get back on the winners’ list this weekend.
Standing in United’s way is Spring Gully, a side currently sitting level on nine points with the Shepparton side.
This contest could go either way, but after two straight losses it is a must-win game if United is to remain in the hunt for top spot.
Kick-off on Sunday at McEwen Reserve is 3pm.
In other round six league one men’s games, Shepparton South will take on FC Eaglehawk in a 7pm Saturday night clash at the Truscott Reserve.
South, who is still undefeated in this year’s competition, will go into this game as favourites, however with Eaglehawk picking up a big 7-0 win last weekend, anything is possible.
One team that will be hoping South slip up is Tatura, with the Ibises just three points behind the league leaders.
Tatura will be heading to North Bendigo on Sunday at 3pm to take on Golden City, with City yet to pick up a win this season.

In the women’s league two competition, Tatura will be hoping it can continue its good run of form against Castlemaine Goldfields FC.
The Ibises currently sit on top of the ladder and after the competition had a week off they will be keen to get back into the action.
Tatura coach Damian Rosella said the side was confident it could get the win despite a number of outs.
“I think they’ve prepared well and are ready to go,” Rosella said.
“Obviously they’ve got a lot of confidence now and they’re pretty confident beating any team that they’re going to play, whether it is at home or away but they’re looking forward to any challenge and trying to stay up there.”
The Ibises will be without Colette Suter, Stefania Cucinotta, Sienna Canning and Kahlia Rathbone for Sunday’s game, however Rosella was confident the side would be able to fill any gaps.
Tatura’s opponent on Sunday, Castlemaine, has had an interrupted start to the year, with two byes and a forfeit along with a win against Epsom FC.
“All I know is that they’re undefeated at the moment,” Rosella said.
“I think they’ve only played two games so they’re probably looking forward to keeping their winning run still going so our target is to defeat them and stay on top, so the girls are looking forward to it.”
Tatura will take on Castlemaine Goldfields at the Soldiers Memorial Park on Sunday at 11am.
In the league one women’s competition, Shepparton United will play host to La Trobe University, with kick-off at McEwen Reserve on Sunday at 10am.
