The Corowa Cougars enjoyed a successful round 7 at home against Wolfpack, securing victories in both contests while celebrating significant player milestones.
Men’s Rugby League
The men’s side recorded a 40-26 victory in a match that highlighted the spirit of bush football. The contest was particularly memorable as it marked Billy Nicholls’ 100th game for the club.
Nicholls showcased his trademark running game throughout the match, breaking the line on multiple occasions and capping off his century celebration with a well-deserved try.
His ability to find gaps and create opportunities for his teammates was instrumental in the team’s success.
The team also celebrated Eli Burge’s 50th game for the Cougars. Burge took the field in five-eighth, marking another significant milestone for a player who has become an integral part of the squad’s structure and culture.
The match demonstrated the Cougars’ capabilities during a dominant first half, where excellent ball movement and sustained momentum built a strong foundation.
While the second half saw a dip in discipline that allowed Wolfpack back into the contest, the boys dug deep to come out with the win.

Women’s League Tag Team
The women’s league tag side secured a 22-8 victory that showcased their resilience and composure.
Kenz Winnell opened the scoring with an expertly finished try, created through footwork in the middle of the field by halfback Tash Johnson.
The Cougars made the contest more difficult than necessary by conceding too many penalties, forcing them to work through consecutive defensive sets.
Camryn Andracchio extended the lead with a well-executed try on the right wing, the culmination of a perfectly orchestrated set play involving halfback Tash Johnson, five-eighth Skye Rodgers, and fullback Kenz Winnell.
The forward pack provided a solid platform throughout the match, with Paisley Shaw, Jayla Chisholm, and Stephanie Johnstone delivering crucial defensive tags at key moments.
