Seymour Golf Club has named selfless member Di Byrne as its volunteer of the month for March.
A club spokesperson said it would like to recognise and thank Byrne for her fantastic volunteer time and efforts for the club.
“Di has been a wonderful member for over 23 years after joining the club in 2001,” the spokesperson said.
“Di started when local golfer Tania Zentfelt ran clinics to encourage women to come out and play. She has never looked back, winning a pennant in her first year and enjoying many great days of golf and victories along the way.
“She lists her hole-in-one on the 17th, being part of the club, friendships she has made, fun and exercise as the highlights of her time here.
“Di is a wonderful volunteer for the club. Her roles range from cleaning toilets on the course to being on the committee, helping with tournaments, catering and the role of bar manager.
“Di also played a major role in the Relay for Life fundraising for cancer.
“Generally, she is just a great person to have around the club. People like Di make our club and community tick.
“Thanks, Di, for everything you do for the club.”
