The Seymour District Darts Association's 2023 summer competition Grand Finals were held at the Broadford Golf Club on June 26, putting a full stop on a terrific season that held plenty of highs and lows.

An excellent crowd of spectators turned out to cheer on the Grand Finalists, with barely a spare seat in the house.
The Broadford Golf Club deserves a massive thank you for hosting the event once again.
Special thanks from the Seymour District Darts Association go to Evie Hastie, Cherie Spencer, and Leanne Paice for keeping the players and spectators well hydrated and well fed.
Division 1:
In Division 1, the Badass squared off against their old nemesis, the Snipers, in a replay of last season's A Grade Final.
The Snipers got off to a better start than they did last time these two teams met and could very well have had the lead heading into the second half if not for some nervous double trouble.
With the scores sitting at 4-3 in favor of Badass heading into the reverse singles, the pressure was mounting on the Snipers.
This pressure showed on the scoreboard as, despite the Alexandra team's best efforts, Badass found the treble and the doubles at will, coasting to a 6-3 victory that sealed their three-peat.
The question now remains: can Badass make it four in a row in the upcoming winter comp?

In Division 2, the Golf Club Aces squared off against the Pyalong Tigers.
With the game being played on one of the Association's free-standing dart boards, all "home ground advantage" was negated as these two teams locked horns in another enthralling battle.
Following a similar tune as the Division 1 final, the higher-ranked Golf Club Aces took a narrow 4-3 advantage heading into the reverse singles.
With the "home" team keeping the same playing order, the Aces held the higher ground in this contest.
It was always going to be an uphill fight for the Tigers to claw the lead back.
The Tigers gave it their all but also ran into some double trouble as the Aces put the Pyalong team to the sword, taking out the Division 2 Premiership with a 6-3 win.
The win was a fantastic birthday present for the Aces' number one ticket holder, Lorraine Jones.

The Royal Rascals and Royal Jacaranda went toe to toe in the Division 3 Grand Final and produced an incredible final, one that neither team will forget for a very long time, with the match going down to the final game of the night.
The Jacarandas got the jump early, exploding out to a 3-1 lead, but the more experienced Rascals slowly but surely whittled away at the score.
Nearly every singles match went to a third leg tiebreaker, and both teams produced something special when the game was on the line.
The Rascals' Brendan Rogers nailed a single dart bull finish to break the tie, and in the next game, the Jacaranda's Cory Ritchie hit a handy combination finish to level the scores once again.
With the scores sitting all square going into the final game of the night, the pressure was building massively on both teams.
With the air thick with tension, you could hear a pin drop, but the silence was broken with an enormous cheer as the Jacarandas sealed victory 6-5 in their first-ever Grand Final.
Congratulations go to all three of the premiers, a perfect way to finish off all the hard work.
Commiserations go to the runners-up, who in their own right would have been very worthy winners on the night if the darts landed differently.
