Sam Cipriani starred for the Blues, kicking five of his side's 14 goals as they ran away from the Eagles to win by 55 points, 14.13 (97) to 6.6 (42).
Tongala started quicker, putting a goal on the scoreboard with only 35 seconds on the clock.
The Blues added a second within three minutes and burst out to a 22-point advantage before United troubled the scorers, with the tally 28-8 in favour of Tongala at the first break.
The host restricted Tongala to 15 points in the second term while managing two majors of its own to remain within striking distance at the half, trailing 20-43.
However, The Blues kicked away in the third, kicking four goals to one and establishing a 41-point lead at three-quarter time, 71-30.
Tongala added a further four majors to two in the last to cap off its first win of the year.
Cipriani led the way in the goal-scoring column for the Blues with five, while Mackenzie Cowley added three and Tristan Watson picked up two majors.
Jack Tenace led the scoring for United with two goals while Shaun Haffenden, Samuel Goodluck, Brady Simpson and coach Scott Beattie each picked up a single major.
“It was good the way that we were able to bounce back from last week and start to gel with a new group,” said Tongala coach Billy Barnes, who saw his side deliver him a first win in charge.
“We’ve got quite a few new players and there's a lot that’s changed from last year to this year, so it was good to be able to get some consistency and play the way that we wanted to play.
“We’ve still got a lot of work to do, we came away with a lot of learnings and things that we could do better for next week.
“At this stage we’re kind of just taking it week by week and each quarter at a time and making sure that we’re always learning and pointing out what we could do better and obviously celebrating what we’re doing well.”
The Eagles blooded two new talents in the match with Bodhi Chique and Alex Wagner suiting up for the seniors for the first time.
Tongala hosts Numurkah next week in an anticipated clash that will see brothers Brett and Matt Deledio take to the field for the first time for the club.
That night, the club’s men’s day/sportsman’s night will be celebrated with Brett set to host a live Footy and Friends with Dylan Buckley and Michael Barlow.
Echuca United will travel to Cobram, one of three undefeated teams remaining in the Murray league in the young season.
