The Goulburn Murray Cricket game at Cohuna Recreation Reserve saw the host dismissed for 86, with BLU wasting no time surpassing it, ending the day 1-153, well positioned to secure maximum points.
BLU captain Regis Chakabva extended his run of consecutive half-centuries to six innings, this time going one better as he remained undefeated on 116 at stumps.
The Zimbabwean smashed 11 fours and three sixes as he accumulated the runs in just 86 deliveries.
Declan Pearse (21 not out) remains alongside him as BLU looks set to build an unassailable total before attempting to bowl Nondies out a second time and secure 10 points.
Earlier, the Nondies batsmen put in determined stands, but were unable to turn longevity at the crease into runs scored, with Will O’Shea (25), Karim Marcelle (19) and Aiden Konopka (10 not out) the only batsmen to reach double figures.
Noah Turner (3-4) and Lucas Holgate (3-7) led the BLU attack, taking wickets and remaining tight to ramp up the pressure on the host side.
With first innings points already in hand, BLU has put the onus on Echuca to score points against Rochester if it wishes to hold on to second spot, while should it score maximum points, the top of the table could be in reach.
