The Blighty A-grade girls wanted to finish off the season doing what they’ve worked so hard on all year, enjoying their netball, playing for each other and finishing together as a team.
Steph Barry was once again fantastic in the ring, adapting to different combinations and working so well with the players around her. Her ability to adjust and continue to find ways to work with her teammates has been such a valuable part of our season.
A huge thank you to her sister, Alex, who has regularly stepped up from B-grade to lend a hand. She is such a versatile player and her willingness to play wherever the team needs her makes her an incredibly valuable teammate.
Dakini Hall also stepped up in a position she doesn’t regularly play. She was thrown into the deep end, but never stopped working hard.
B-grade: Blighty 18 def by Deni Rovers 86.
We had a great start to the game, with their second quarter proving to be their best.
Dakini Hall worked hard to keep the ball flowing down the court, and feed the ball beautifully into the shooters.
Sammy Watson had a great game in goals and wing attack. She remained composed and did her very best under the defensive pressure applied.
Thanks to Niccola Stanworth and Krystle Winter who stepped up from C-grade to help us out, and special mention to Emily Harvey who joined us from under-17s and played beautifully.
Awards: Dakini Hall and Sammy Watson

C-grade worked incredibly hard all game, doing their best to keep up with a very fit and experienced Rovers side.
We had a few players unavailable, which gave us the opportunity to bring in some of our under-17 girls. It was fantastic to see them step up and have a go!
A special mention to Amy Doherty, who played her very first game with us. She grew in confidence as the game went on, positioned herself well and worked tirelessly through the midcourt.
She had a fantastic debut and deservedly earned Best on Court.
The defence was remarkable.
Niccola Stanworth, Bec Rourke, Chook Watson and Izzy Pearn constantly applied pressure and worked tirelessly to create turnovers.
In the midcourt, Mikayla Collie and Krystle Winter worked hard to move the ball and give our attacking end plenty of opportunities.
Suzette Van der Berg, Rach Bucholtz and Alena Larmour worked hard against some very strong defenders and never stopped fighting for every ball.
Awards: Amy Doherty, Mikayla Collie and Bec Rourke.

The girls started strongly, scoring early and doing a fantastic job of moving the ball down the court and creating opportunities.
You could really see the confidence and improvement that has grown throughout the season.
The Rovers’ accuracy in the ring was just too strong for us, but our girls in defence never stopped. They fought hard for every ball.
The last quarter was all about having a bit of fun, with the girls moving into positions they don’t normally play.
The Rovers certainly took advantage of that, but it gave everyone a chance to have a laugh, try something different and finish the season with smiles on their faces.

Each of the girls put in so much effort, and it really showed on the court.
There was ease of ball movement down the court, and strong defence and shooting accuracy from everyone.
