The racing season kicked off last Thursday at Seymour Racing Club with a 10-race card that did not disappoint.
While dark skies threatened to put a dampener on the return to racing at the Seymour track, the wet weather held off and the crowd took to the grandstands.
Too good: Jockey Ethan Brown won race two with Too Big.
It was also the first event overseen by recently-appointed Seymour Racing Club chief executive officer Chris Martin, who could not have been happier to see horses back out on track.
Events got under way with a 1200m race which saw the favourite, trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, get off to a slow start.

Harvest Moon worked its way back through the field but its charge was too late as Lefkada led by half-a-length at the finish line.
Local horse Freddy Mac, trained by David ‘Butch’ Bourne, took out race eight.
The season continues at Seymour on September 1 with Friday racing as things start to warm up towards the biggest event on the calendar, the Seymour Cup, on Sunday, October 22.
