The team is selected from players from all country Victorian cricket associations and based on performances in that domestic season.
Mueller was the top run maker in Cricket Shepparton’s Haisman Shield competition in the 2024-25 season with a total of 762 runs at a Bradman-like average of 108.86 — the third most runs ever scored in a season in the history of the competition.
It followed the largest run aggregate the previous season when he amassed 612 runs and skippered Kyabram to is first Haisman Shield flag.
Mueller won a Big V cap in the 2022-23 season and was a member of the Victorian side that claimed this season’s Australian Cricket Championships crown in South Australia’s Barossa Valley earlier this year.
For the second year in a row he took the Fieldsman of the Carnival award.
Mueller is hoping to represent Victoria again in next year’s carnival, which is to be contested in the Margaret River area of Western Australia
Mueller was one of two Cricket Shepparton players named in the VCCL team.
The other was Central Park St Brendan’s spin bowler Jarrod Wakeling, who claimed the most wickets in the Haisman Shield last season with 38 victims.
Mueller is also a gifted footballer who kicked 100 goals for Murray Football League club Congupna last year and is leading the competition again this year with 83 goals after booting 11 against Tongala on Saturday.
