Shepparton police offender management team’s Senior Constable Zac Clarke said clothing store Ozmosis in Maude St was allegedly broken into at 5am on Wednesday, May 15.
He said about $15,000 worth of clothes, sunglasses and watches were allegedly stolen, and about $5000 in damage was done to the front entrance and cabinets inside the store.
Sen Constable Clarke said the items were allegedly put in an empty skip bin that was found in a nearby lane way and taken from the scene.
The clothing and sunglasses were found at a Mooroopna address later Wednesday morning, while one of the watches was found at the Mooroopna Manor – the apartments where the old Mooroopna Hospital was in McLennan St.
Sen Constable Clarke said a 34-year-old Mooroopna man has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of burglaries, thefts and criminal damage.
Police allege the man has been implicated in two other thefts in recent weeks, as well as damage to the toilet area at Mooroopna Manor when he allegedly left the skip bin there.
Sen Constable Clarke said the man had also been charged over a break-in at Mooroopna McDonald's on April 27 where cleaning appliances and an air compressor were allegedly stolen from a storeroom, as well as the alleged theft of several bottles of alcohol from BWS in Mooroopna on May 4.
The man has been bailed to appear in Shepparton Magistrates’ Court in July.
Meanwhile, the front entrance to Ozmosis was fixed by late Wednesday afternoon.
