A man allegedly tried to steal the car of another man he was meeting in Shepparton after organising to meet online.
Police said the victim and a 19-year-old man pre-arranged online to meeting in Shepparton on September 2.
Police allege that when they met, the 19-year-old produced a “sharp-edge weapon” and threatened the other man and tried to take his car.
The victim managed to drive away.
A 19-year-old Wangaratta man was charged on Wednesday, September 23, with attempted aggravated carjacking, intentionally causing injury and committing an indictable offence while on bail.
He has been bailed to face a Magistrates’ Court at a later date.
