What a joke, our planetary leaders get together to save the planet and at the same time the Victorian Government institutes plans to install reverse-cycle airconditioning into rental properties (Seymour Telegraph, November 4, 2021).
Yes, I understand that low income families use inefficient heaters and may not be able to pay the winter power bill.
With this program, they will have cooling as well and won’t be able to pay the summer power bill either.
This means more power is used in a world that must cut back on power usage and should also be reducing population, Australia included.
I could understand it if they offered heating only units. The fact that this plan is being delivered by Solar Victoria goes to prove that any improvement we get from solar collection will be lost to running airconditioning.
Until we come to grips with the fact that we are a plague on this planet and act upon it, all the green washes in the world will not avert the inevitable environmental crash. So why pretend?
