Young talent shines through as Shepparton East students celebrate art success

Young talent shone at the Eastern Goulburn Valley CWA Art Exhibition, where Shepparton East Primary School students impressed the community with their creativity and confidence, making it a proud moment for the school.

With at least one student entering from each year level, Shepparton East Primary School art teacher Elly Campbell said the exhibition gave young people the opportunity to put their work out there to be seen.

“Younger kids don’t often get a lot of time to put their work on display, despite coming up with some pretty creative stuff,” she said.

“We had 20 students enter, with the majority walking away with either first or second place, or an encouragement award.”

Ms Campbell said the students revelled in the competition, and the thrill of seeing their artwork on display for all to admire was a “really proud moment”.

The exhibition featured a number of categories, from handcrafts and photography to horticulture and floral arrangements.

While only Shepparton East Primary was invited this year, next year the exhibition will open to other eastern schools — giving more opportunity for young talent to shine.
