The brains behind the event, St Mary’s art and technology leader Claudia Stow, said she felt very proud seeing the expo come together on the evening of October 13.
“When you’re creating an exhibition for the first time, it’s a lot of speculation and hoping that it’ll go well and look okay because you can’t give it a trial run, it’s too big,” Ms Stow said.
“I felt really proud and satisfied, I thought it looked pretty good.”
Young singers wowed the audience.

The expo featured creations from Prep students all the way up to the Year 12 cohort.
Across the school’s campus, there were performances from choirs, dance groups and an orchestra, as well as paintings, product design, sculptures and digital tech presentations.
There was also an exhibition of works created by the teaching team.
Ms Stow said it was important to showcase the creativity of students from across the school community.

“I’d like to encourage and develop students to see themselves as creative and as makers, no matter what their pathway is,” she said.
“I heard a quote once, it’s ‘one of the highest forms of human expression is to create’, and I think we all do that in our own way, regardless of what our job is.
“To encourage that, I think, is really important.”
Ms Stow said she was grateful for the teaching and maintenance teams who supported the expo to come to life, as well as the parents, carers and broader school community who attended.
The orchestra kicked off the event.

She said she hoped the event would continue well into the future.
“I think it’s really important that we, as a community, encourage creativity. It’s an important element of our lives,” she said.
“Hopefully next year, we’ll have even more people attending. That’s what I’m hoping for.”
The stadium was filled with art of all mediums.
