The decision to lift restrictions follows recent rainfall increasing water storage levels, and forecasts of further rain.
Stage two restrictions were introduced in May 2025 in response to declining water storage levels caused by prolonged dry and hot weather conditions.
At their lowest, storages sat at 18 per cent in mid-June, compared to 77 per cent at the same time last year. Water storages are currently at 50 per cent.
GVW managing director Steve Capewell praised the Euroa and Violet Town communities for their cooperation and commitment to water conservation during the restrictions.
“We want to sincerely thank everyone for their outstanding efforts to reduce water use over the past months,” Dr Capewell said.
“Your actions have made a difference in helping us manage water resources during a challenging dry period.”
Access to Euroa and Violet Town standpipes (where approved users can purchase and collect drinking water) has also been reinstated with the lifting of restrictions.
While restrictions are now lifted, GVW reminds residents that Permanent Water Saving Rules remain in place.
These rules encourage responsible water use year-round, including only watering gardens during designated times and using trigger nozzles on hoses.
“With dry conditions expected to continue into summer, it’s important we all remain mindful of our water use,” Dr Capewell said.
“Even small changes at home can help ensure a sustainable water supply for everyone.”
