More than $3.5 million will be given to projects in the Hume region from the State Government's $25 million Council Support Package.
This package has already successfully started ready-to-go projects in important regional cities and nearby towns.
The funding is earmarked for ventures designed to amplify tourism, enhance local infrastructure, bolster businesses, and empower volunteers.
Grants range from $20,000 to $5 million, based on the project's size and goals.
“We’re supporting and celebrating our unique regional and rural towns, and this initiative empowers them to choose projects that highlight their local landmarks, businesses, and community assets,” State Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes said.
In Seymour, the State Government is investing a substantial $75,000 to upgrade facilities at the Seymour Visitor Information Centre, housed in the historic Seymour Old Courthouse.
This upgrade is expected to improve the visitor experience and community facilities.
Minister for Regional Development Gayle Tierney said they are proud to support so many exciting projects across rural and regional Victoria that will lead to better public spaces, more economic activity and better outcomes for visitors and locals.
“These projects are shovel-ready meaning that we’re ready to support better outcomes that benefit our regions sooner,” She said.
The Council Support Package has supported 27 projects across regional Victoria and works with the Tiny Towns Fund, which supports important projects in smaller towns of up to 5,000 people.
The first round of Tiny Towns Fund projects will be announced soon, with both programs run by Regional Development Victoria.
