State Member for Euroa Annabelle Cleeland is encouraging local veterans to apply for the Anzac Day Proceeds Fund a well as the Victoria Remembers Grant Program.
The former provides support for ex-service organisations and veterans’ groups to deliver practical welfare and wellbeing programs, while the latter offers up to $30,000 for projects that honour and commemorate veterans’ service.
Grants through the Anzac Day Proceeds Fund aid activities such as direct welfare services, health and wellbeing programs, education costs for dependents, transport support or small equipment purchases that benefit veterans and their families.
The Victoria Remembers Grant Program, on the other hand, assists with new or upgraded memorials, commemorative events, education projects like digital storytelling or school engagement and the preservation of wartime heritage for future generations.
Ms Cleeland said the programs were a meaningful way to give back to those who had given so much.
“Our veterans, RSLs, and military history are a crucial part of our region, and these grants are a practical way to ensure their contributions are supported and remembered for years to come,” she said.
“Whether it’s funding welfare programs, upgrading a memorial, or creating an education project, there are opportunities here for many community groups.
“I strongly encourage RSLs and veterans’ organisations to consider applying, and if you need a letter of support for your project, please don’t hesitate to reach out.”
Applications will close on Monday, September 15.
