Two events catered to art lovers in town are set to be hosted by Yea Arts Inc, a community group dedicated to making the local arts culture thrive.
Led by Naomi Cass, a free, day-long masterclass in Yea will be open to visual artists and crafters of all experience levels.
Ms Cass, an Australian art curator, writer and critic, is the director of the Centre for Contemporary Photography.
‘RAV in Residence: Building Professional Materials’ is set to allow visual artists to explore the gallery landscape.
To be held at the Yea Wetlands Discovery Centre, the event will enable attendees to develop networks to further their creative careers, and explore key topics such as writing artist statements, developing artist CVs and approaching galleries.
Joining Ms Cass will be chief executive Jo Porter and director of communication and engagement Kate Gerritsen from Regional Arts Victoria.
The class, which is the result of a partnership between Regional Arts Victoria, Yea Arts Inc and Murrindindi Shire Council, will take place on Saturday, October 18 from 10am to 4pm.

Award-winning performance
Theatre lovers are invited to attend a social networking event at the Country Club Hotel in Yea before seeing the multi award-winning NIUSIA.
Showing at the Yea Butter Factory, NIUSIA is led by multidisciplinary artist Beth Paterson, who weaves memories, handed-down stories and interviews through the performance in an attempt to reconcile her own mixed cultural inheritance and comprehend her grandmother’s complex legacy.
NIUSIA has had critically acclaimed and award-winning premiere seasons at Melbourne Fringe Festival and La Mama Theatre in 2023, and has just returned from this year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival with rave reviews.
