Two winners in Dash for Cash

Dash for Cash winners Ryan Mann and Andrew Day.

Before anglers even hit the water in the Edward River Fishing Challenge, a mystery fish size is placed in an envelope and sealed.

It indicates the winning fish size for the weekend’s Dash for Cash, held Sunday morning.

After a full day of fishing on Saturday, anglers hit the Edward River fishing zone for a few extra hours before presentations.

The angler who gets a fish equal to the mystery size claims the cash prize.

This year’s goal size was a 66cm cod, but Fishing Challenge committee member Ian Fisher revealed no one got the size on the nose.

So it came down to next best, with two anglers reeling in 67cm cods.

The $1200 cash prize went to Andrew Day, while a $600 cash prize was claimed by Ryan Mann.
