A new ventilation system, improved lighting, and updated signage has been installed in each compartment, along with a fresh coat of paint.
Director of infrastructure Kate Lemon said a new changing table and non-slip floor coverings will be installed in the accessible compartment.
“There are some small remaining works on the accessible compartment, but the male and female toilets have reopened,” she said.
Meanwhile, residents have raised concerns over the state of the bus shelters at the centre, calling for works to refresh the paint and remove graffiti.
Ms Lemon said the shelters were installed as a PTV project in 2012, but no contract agreement was put in place for the council to maintain the shelters.
“Council is trying to work with the Department of Transport to come up with an ongoing solution to the maintenance issues,” she said.
Kyabram Residents and Ratepayers Action Group publicity officer Sandra Brown called for works to the bus shelters.
“The shelters desperately need a new coat of paint,” she said.
“They’re looking very tired and rundown, and this doesn’t create a good first impression for visitors to our town.”
