On a big day for the club, the Tocumwal Reserves went into the clash against Moama slightly undermanned but keen to put on a good show for the home crowd.
Also with some new faces, with players putting their hand up under injury cloud, and a bit of help from the under-17s, the team was finalised and ran onto the ground with confidence and enthusiasm.
Winning the toss and kicking with the breeze, the Bloods started well, applying pressure around the ball and making it difficult for Moama to score easily.
Going into the first break, Moama registered a few late goals to take the lead by 21 points at the first change.
As the game wore on the skill and experience of the Magpies shone through as they were able to kick six goals with the breeze and take an unbeatable lead into the main break which they were able to maintain in the second half.
As the Bloods pushed numbers back to stem the scoring, the game was played in their defensive half however they were unable to get the ball past their half forward line.

Our boys played a ripper game against the top two side.
The first half was very competitive, and the boys were hard at the footy, laying plenty of tackles and putting together great passages of play.
Applying plenty of pressure to every contest we kept Moama to minimal goals.
Unfortunately, in the end Moama ran away with the game as we ran out of legs, leaving the score an inaccurate representation of the game that was.
What an amazing effort by our impressive thirds side to not only maintain incredible numbers but turn up and be so competitive against top sides.

It was a long day at the office for the boys coming up against the top of the ladder Moama.
We were undersized from the start.
To the credit of the boys, they tried hard but only managed a few forward entries.
Archie and Josh continued their fine form from the backline, intercepting and giving the team the best chance to defend.
Other standouts for the day were Chace, Cooper, Heath and Lucas.
The team showed plenty of courage and skill throughout the day, the effort from our young lads can not be questioned.
