‘‘It was very exciting, as it was the first since the start of COVID,’’ Historical Society secretary Meg Christian said.
‘‘Linga Longa Tours, from Yarrawonga, brought 38 visitors.
‘‘There they had their lunch, a look around the museum and learnt a bit about the history of Deniliquin.
‘‘They were also amused by our two lovely ladies who dress in period costume and act as maids.’’
Those lovely ladies acting as maids were Historical Society members Doris Mills and Jan Renwick, who pull on the period costumes whenever they can.
‘‘The guests all said they really enjoyed the visit and thanked those members who were there,’’ Meg said.
The Historical Society backed it up by playing host to an antique vehicle club from Temora on Saturday.
Gallery goes live
The long anticipated A Day In The Life of Deniliquin 2021 photos have now been released.
An online gallery was launched on Wednesday — exactly one year since 140 photographers captured all the happenings in Deniliquin over a 24 hour period.
It was the fourth instalment of the photography project, which was launched in 2009.
More projects using photos from this year and others are still in the works, and should be launched later this year.
In the meantime, check out the 2021 images — and the photos from other years — at www.dayinthelifeofdeniliquin.com.
What’s missing?
Avid readers of the tfBannersc Pastoral Timestf$f, particularly those who read a Friday edition, will notice something missing today.
There is no Mathoura Diary in this edition due to unforeseen circumstances.
It is anticipated the column will return as normal next week.
Online outage
Still on our readers, our online subscribers were inconvenienced last week with an outage at PressReader — the third-party company responsible for publishing the online edition of the Pastoral Times, and more than 7000 other newspapers.
It prevented our Friday edition from being uploaded.
PressReader has since confirmed the disruption was the result of a cyber attack.
Access to online print editions of over 7000 mastheads continues to be disrupted, as the company scrambles to restore service.
‘‘PressReader’s technical teams have been working around the clock to address the current disruptions. Our security teams have now classified this as a cyber incident, the company reported.
‘‘The situation comes as companies across North America have seen an increase in security incidents over the past several weeks.’’
The company confirmed there is ‘no evidence’ of its clients and customers personal information being affected or compromised.
Ski school wind down
The Deniliquin Boat Club’s Ski-School season will end this month.
As organisers prepare to wind down, there will be just two boats running during the regular Friday night event.
To reserve a spot, participants have been encouraged to register early via the Deniliquin Boat Club app.
Presentation night for the 2021/22 season will be held at the boat club on Friday, March 25.

There will also be a charity auction and a raffle.
All proceeds will contribute to Navorina’s $1 million appeal, to support upgrades of the current facility and the continuation of a wing.
You can book a table up to eight for the event, or purchase individual tickets. Tickets are $100 per person.
To book, phone the Deni RSL on 5881 1455.
