With more than 11,000 volunteers across the state, NSW SES plays an important role in helping communities prepare for and respond to emergencies, including storms and floods.
Commissioner Mike Wassing AFSM said volunteers were everyday people doing extraordinary things.
“They are part of the fabric of their towns and communities, and volunteering is a rewarding way to connect with others, develop new skills, and be there for your community when it matters,” Commissioner Wassing said.
“Whether you're interested in hands-on field work, community engagement, logistics, or support behind the scenes, there’s a role for you.
“You don’t need previous experience — just a willingness to learn and a commitment to your community.”
Hands on or behind the scenes, there’s a role for everyone.
