The report, spanning July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025, was adopted at the October 21 council meeting.
It details key infrastructure improvements including the Nagambie Foreshore Walk upgrade, Longwood female-friendly change rooms, installation of over 2000 metres of new footpaths, and 50km of road resurfacing.
Mayor Claire Ewart-Kennedy said the past year was one of recalibration and renewal — not just for council, but for the entire community.
“Like many regional areas, we’ve felt the pinch of rising living costs and increasing prices for materials and services,” Cr Ewart-Kennedy said.
“The pressure to do more with less is real. But through it all, our community has shown incredible resilience, and council has responded with care and clarity — always putting people first.”
The report highlights council’s focus on balancing fiscal responsibility with community needs, while maintaining support for local events and initiatives that strengthen tourism and business opportunities.
“What truly defines this year is the spirit of our people,” Cr Ewart-Kennedy said.
“From lively festivals and local markets to sporting events and community shows — these gatherings remind us of the strength, warmth and pride that make Strathbogie so special.”
