The night also featured 10 minutes of material from this very nervous journalist and aspiring comedian.
While you won’t see me on Netflix any time soon, I am proud to say I got some solid laughter out of the good people of Seymour.
The best part of the night for me was watching Jai and Ryan command the stage with what they tell me was new material. They had the room rolling with non-stop laughter the entire night and it was fantastic to see how experienced comedians command the stage.
Jai entertained the crowd with stories about his life and some observations about his relationship, he also managed to skillfully slip in some quite dark material without getting the crowd offside.
Ryan took bravery to a whole new level when he whipped out some risqué material in front of his mum, who was seated in the first few rows.
It takes some serious cojones to look at your mum while you tell stories about appendages and losing your virginity.
But not only did he do it, he had the audience curled over with laughter at the same time.
Feedback from the event has been overwhelmingly positive and is a testament to the Seymour Performers Workshop.
I want to take the opportunity to thank SPW for letting me be part of the night and share the stage with two very funny people.
