In late 2024, the Goulburn Murray Solar Savers program was launched, an initiative that works to support the region’s residents in navigating renewables.
Mitchell, Strathbogie and Murrindindi are among the local government areas involved in the program, led by the Goulburn Murray Climate Alliance and the Eastern Alliance for Greenhouse Action.
In October, Strathbogie Shire Council will be hosting the free webinar, with Goulburn Murray Solar Savers, to provide locals with information on the steps they can take to make energy-efficient decisions at home during the cost-of-living crisis.
The 45-minute session will feature Romney Bishop, from sustainable architecture and construction company 10 Star Homes, and Grace Davis, Strathbogie Shire’s climate change action officer.
The two will explain how energy assessments can help households identify savings and improve home comfort.
Strathbogie Shire Mayor Claire Ewart-Kennedy said the initiative would give residents confidence and support when making decisions about energy upgrades.
“We know people want to reduce their energy bills, but it can be overwhelming trying to figure out what’s best and who to trust,” she said.
The webinar is scheduled to run on Friday, October 10 at noon.
