Tocumwal Public School has a long and proud history of playing softball with particular success, in recent years progressing to the NSW State finals on a number of occasions.
This year’s girls’ team is one step closer to a repeat, recording two wins from two games to qualify for the Riverina final in Wagga.
TPS defeated Finley Public School, 22-3, and last week outclassed Narrandera Public School, 24-4.
The team will take on the winner from the northern Riverina area in the final in Wagga Wagga next month.
“Congratulations to the girls and their coach Mrs Beth Hatty, who have trained since February to hone their skills and understand the intricacies of the game,” TPS principal Darren White said.
“We wish them all the best in the final.”
