Fresh daffodils were generously donated by residents and raised $5785 for cancer research and support services.
Group leader Margaret Sheppard emphasised that Daffodil Day offered a heartwarming opportunity to make a real difference in people’s lives by supporting the Cancer Council.
“Most of us know someone who is affected by cancer,” she said.
“Early diagnosis, improved treatments and extended life expectancy are the result of ongoing cancer research.”
The recently drawn winter raffle was a resounding success, raising an impressive $5640 for the worthy cause.
Local resident Deanne Dudley was thrilled to win the first prize of $400 fuel vouchers.
Other lucky winners included Debbie S., who received a signed Essendon jumper; Lee Evans, who took home a beautiful quilt; L. Martin, who won practical Bunnings vouchers; and Mick C., who was delighted with a lovingly framed cross stitch.
