Seymour Passenger Services officially launched the new all-electric buses on Wednesday, October 25.
The launch is a part of the Victorian Government Zero Emissions Bus Trial, igniting the spark for the first United Nations World Sustainable Transport Day.

Public and Active Transport Minister Gabrielle Williams said she was delighted that the trial had launched.
“(The launch) is paving the way for more sustainable transport for the state,” she said.
“Having Seymour as the first regional town in Victoria to go ‘all-electric’ with their buses is a feather in the cap of the town and a perfect outcome to highlight in the lead-up to World Sustainable Transport Day in November.”
Seymour Passenger Services engaged Seymour schools with an education challenge to mark the occasion.
Students tested their knowledge of sustainable transport, with prizes including a depot tour, barbecue — and, of course, a ride in Seymour Passenger Services’ Volvo electric bus.
Volvo Bus Australia general manager Mitch Pedan said the company was delighted to be the lead partner for the rollout of the buses.
“Through the partnership with Volvo Bus, Seymour Passenger Services have delivered the latest technologies into their business to service the Seymour community,” Mr Pedan said.

Seymour Passenger Services ZEB lead Andrew Chan attributed the trial’s success to the collaboration with many stakeholders.
“Like anything worth doing, this has been a complex and challenging process requiring incredible determination, commitment and collaboration across multiple companies,“ he said.
“In the process, we have all learnt a lot, and it has brought out the great character it takes to get things done.”
Seymour Passenger Services partnered with corporations worldwide, including Volvo, Mondo, Sprightly, Volgren, Siemens and EVenergi.
