While nothing can be certain in a pandemic, Ag Society secretary Pam Beerens said she is confident the show will go ahead.
The show is set to take over Kings Park on October 1 and 2, and Ms Beerens said she was pleased with how the event is shaping up.
“We’ve got a big event in the works and we’re very excited to be back after the show in 2020 was cancelled,” she said.
“The show is a big event for Seymour and we know people were bitterly disappointed to not have it last year.
“We’re working with the authorities to ensure all the relevant precautions are taken and the show can go ahead with minimal disruption.”
The Friday night will include live music alongside carnival rides, games, competitions, showbags, fairy floss, donuts and other food stalls. The highlight of the evening will be the spectacular fireworks display.
On the Saturday, the horses, beef and dairy cattle, alpacas, poultry and dogs will be judged and there will be entertainment around the grounds.
There will be yard dog trials, chainsaw sculpting, camel rides, an animal nursery, sheep display, sheep shearing and championship wood chopping.
Competitions in the pavilions will include photography, art, Lego, wool, baking, preserves, needlework and craft, produce, plants and flowers.
Special competitions will also take place for the tiny tots and the rural and junior ambassador.
Ms Beerens said the Ag Society were looking for additional volunteers to ensure the show runs smoothly.
“Operating an event with COVID-19 still around presents a range of challenges and we need more hands on deck to deal with that,” she said.
“We’re looking for volunteer stewards in the craft and equine sections and we need as many people as we can get to do the variety of different jobs on the weekend of the show.
“We’re extremely grateful for the help we receive each year from volunteers and we hope people can help us out again. The show is on from 4 pm to 9 pm on October 1 and from 9 am to 4 pm on October 2.
The schedule for the show is still a few weeks away but will be largely unchanged from the 2019 event.
