Linda Brown discovered tyres and scrap metal dumped on Dead Horse Lane about three weeks ago and found a couch had been abandoned on September 23.
She is calling for anyone with information to dob in the dumpers to authorities.
“This picturesque lane where many walk, jog and bike ride is being fouled by some despicable moron who can’t be bothered doing the right thing and taking their rubbish to the tip,” she said.
“I urge locals to be wary of unfamiliar vehicles with trailers or large vans as it needed a sizeable vehicle to deposit the rubbish at their new location.
“The lane can be accessed from both the dirt extension of Tarcombe Rd and Back Mountain Road.
“It would be sensational to catch these log-heads and send their garbage back to them.”
Another makeshift tip was discovered in Telegraph Rd on September 16.
A wheelie bin full of rubbish and other miscellaneous waste were abandoned on the side of the road.
Illegal dumping of waste can lead to long-term contamination of land, waterways and groundwater.
Mitchell Shire Council spends more than $100,000 each year cleaning up and disposing of illegally dumped waste. If caught, council officers may issue on the spot fines of more $300 or commence legal action.
Illegal dumping can attract a maximum court penalty of $610,700 or seven years imprisonment for an individual, and more than $1.2 million for a corporation.
To report dumping, phone council's local laws department on 5734 6200 or EPA Victoria on 1300 372 842.
