Significant upgrades have been completed on the Seymour Health car park.
Previously gravel, the car park has been transformed into a modern asphalt facility, achieving an aesthetic and functional makeover for the area.
A range of new features have been implemented in the car park, reflecting Seymour Health’s commitment to providing a safe and welcoming environment for the community.
New safety features of the Seymour Health car park
- Asphalt surface: reduces maintenance needs, improves accessibility and offers a smoother parking experience
- CCTV surveillance: monitors the car park 24/7 to enhance security and deter potential criminal activity
- Safety lighting: bright, energy-efficient lighting placed strategically to ensure visibility and safety
- New pedestrian crossing: Callen St crossing installed to improve safety and accessibility
- Accessible parking: five new spaces located close to the main entrance to Seymour Health
- Garden landscaping memorial gardens: the Soldiers Memorial Hospital Gardens has been enhanced with new, accessible extra-wide pavement and garden features; however, the serene and welcoming environment of the community landmark has been maintained
“We are thrilled to offer these new facilities to our community,” Seymour Health chief executive Ward Steet said.
“The upgraded car park not only improves the overall experience for our patients and visitors but also underscores our dedication to their safety and security.”
The project was completed on schedule and within budget, and is part of Seymour Health’s ongoing efforts to enhance its infrastructure services.
The new car park is now open and ready for use, with minor landscape gardening yet to be completed, which is scheduled over the coming week.
