Seymour Rotary president Mariam Baker said the generosity of the community was amazing, with some handing over $50 notes.

‘‘We’ve been doing this for many years and we can’t thank everyone enough for their contributions,’’ she said.

‘‘It’s wonderful to see parents handing their kids money to give to us. It puts a big smile on their face and teaches them the importance of the appeal.

‘‘Our thanks go to the staff of The Foodary for allowing us to collect donations there. It wouldn’t be possible without their support.’’

Rotary volunteers were also at the service stations on the Thursday and Monday before and after Good Friday to raise money for Rotary initiatives.

‘‘Money raised for Rotary goes back into the Seymour and district community,’’ Ms Baker said.

‘‘Rotary organises and helps with hundreds of projects around the area and the money collected will allow us to keep doing that.

‘‘Some of the money also goes to Rotary International projects including the Global Polio Eradication Initiative.’’
