The annual appeal always sees a generous response from all sections of the community, and is a popular way that locals can show support for those in difficult financial circumstances at this special time of year.
“We know we bring so much joy to the children, and it’s a great reward to those who have participated in making this happen,” Ray White agent Michael O’Sullivan said.
On Monday, December 8, the 215 presents donated by the local community were handed over from Ray White to Santa and the St Vincent de Paul team at the real estate agency’s office on Wallis St.
These gifts are set to be distributed to families in need during the festive season.
An impressive 215 presents were donated this year.

“Ray White Real Estate’s staff, especially Jo Clark who delights in running the Little Ray of Giving Appeal, and their enthusiasm and commitment to helping the local people of Seymour have a happier Christmas is outstanding,” Seymour St Vincent de Paul Society president Cathy O’Dwyer said.
“Christmas is a time when our conference is particularly active, and our volunteers are always overwhelmed by the community need for support — these last few weeks, due to the rising living costs, we have seen nearly 50 per cent more requests for help.”
For families wishing to collect a Christmas hamper, Santa is coming to the Seymour St Vincent de Paul Society Assistance Centre on Saturday, December 13 from 10am to 1pm.
Santa will be there to meet, greet and hand out gifts from the Little Ray of Giving Tree, bringing all the Christmas cheer.
Families can also call into the assistance centre on Anzac Ave earlier for the goodies prepared by the many local volunteers.
The centre is open from Monday to Wednesday, from 10am to 1pm; however, it will be closed from Thursday, December 18 to Monday, January 19.
