Marking the completion of the project, the students left their mark on the shelter in High St, Pyalong.
The final stage was celebrated by Mitchell Shire Council on Thursday, July 24, with students and teachers gathering to view the newly installed panels featuring the artwork.
The designs bring a burst of colour to the structure’s back wall and reflect the students’ pride in their town and environment.
Following community consultation, the new shelter was installed last year to improve safety and comfort for district children.

The $30,000 project was entirely funded by council and involved the construction of a formal bus stop and shelter to replace multiple informal stops.
The shelter is situated adjacent to the Pyalong Town Centre Park, the location selected in consultation with the community and Public Transport Victoria to serve four local school bus routes more safely and efficiently.
The finishing touch was the student artwork, developed through workshops at the school and transferred onto weatherproof panels.
Mitchell Shire’s Cr Andrea Pace said the project proved to be a great example of local collaboration.
“This shelter is already making a big difference for local families, but the addition of student artwork has made it something truly special,” Cr Pace said.
“Council was thrilled to work with Pyalong Primary School and I’d like to thank the teachers and students for getting involved and sharing their creativity.
“It’s a great example of what can happen when we work together to build something that reflects the identity and spirit of our towns.”
