Popular Benalla calendar released

They include the magnificent Bank of New South Wales, the Railway Station and Restaurant, the Fire Tower and Bell, the Church Street Miller Homes and the Old Post Office, where people used to weigh themselves on the penny scales situated outside.

A short history of each building accompanies these photographs under the banner of ‘Benalla — gone but not forgotten’.

The calendars can be purchased for $10 from the West End Store & Post Office, The Information Centre, TerryWhite Chemmart, Millers Department Store, Hides Bakery and Mitre10 Benalla, or directly from Benalla Family Research Group rooms at the end of Mair Street, on Tuesdays and Wednesdays between 10am and 4pm.

The group says that in previous years they have made excellent stocking fillers for loved ones and friends, and this year they will fill the same purpose with aplomb and interest.
