Police investigate fatal Tooborac crash

Police are investigating a fatal crash at Tooborac this morning.

Emergency services were called to reports two cars and a truck had crashed into a fallen tree on the Northern Hwy, about 6am.

The driver of one of the cars, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.

The driver of the other car sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.

The truck driver was not injured.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision is ongoing.

The Northern Hwy is expected to be closed for some time.
