Nicholas Cousins and Mystique Manns launched OJ Home & Lawn Services three months ago, naming the venture after their newborn.
The pair has since become an unstoppable duo, offering locals comprehensive maintenance services including mowing, weeding, spraying, gardening and painting.
Looking back, Mystique said it was Nicholas’ passion that pushed him to pursue the business.
“He loves anything gardening, he has his own herbs and vegies growing out the back,” she said.
“He always keeps the yards clean.
“So, he thought, ‘I might try to do it professionally’.”
As the business expands, the pair are looking to provide home repair and house cleaning services, as well as potentially hiring contractors to complete other jobs as needed.
But, while they have big dreams for OJ Home & Lawn Services, Nicholas and Mystique are looking to uphold its home-grown feel and local roots.
“It’s a friendly, family environment. That’s what we want this company to be,” Nicholas said.
“We don’t want to be this big, corporate company.
“We want our clients and our employees to be happy.”
OJ Home & Lawn Services is based in Seymour, and services the wider region, extending out to Wallan and Whittlsea, and to Mooroopna and Shepparton.
