Important reconstruction and resurfacing works will start on Oak St, Seymour, from February 24.
The northbound lane of Oak St between Anzac Ave and Wimble St will be reconstructed and finished with a new asphalt surface.
The works will improve safety for the more than 2000 vehicles that use the road every day.
Additional drainage pits will be installed to improve drainage in the area, while the existing kerb and channel will be replaced.
During construction the northbound lane will be closed with full traffic management in place and a diversion established along Delatite Rd and Wimble St.
The works are being managed by Mitchell Shire Council and are expected to be completed by May 15, weather permitting.
While there may be some minor delays, vehicles will still be able to move through the area. Council reminds drivers to adhere to the instructions of traffic management for their safety and the safety of road workers.
This $580 000 project is funded through the Federal Government’s Roads to Recovery program. Phase one of the project was completed in 2019.
