A free forum coming to the Goulburn Valley will flip the script on motorcycle safety by emphasising the role of other drivers, road designers, governments, services and communities.
Previous motorcycle safety messaging has focused on motorcyclists themselves and this forum seeks to reframe riders’ actions as just one part of a larger story.
“Riders are the vulnerable road user, but that doesn’t mean riders should carry the whole burden of safety,” Jolene Doller of GV Social Riders said.
The Goulburn Valley Motorcycle Forum will consist of two practical workshops that cover motorcycle safety and first aid as well as an opportunity for local riders to identify the issues that matter the most to them.
A $2000 lucky-door prize is on offer and a light lunch will be provided free of charge.
The forum is being delivered through a partnership between GV Social Riders and RoadSafe Goulburn Valley.
The event will be held at the Sir Ian McLennan Centre in Mooroopna on Saturday, October 10, from 11am to 4pm.
