The group is widely made up of women in business looking to build a rapport with each other.
On April 30, members of the group came together to listen to Carly Delany from First Class Accounting share accounting tips for small business owners and advice on end-of-financial-year planning.
Before the talk began, the women took a moment to introduce themselves to the room and reflect on what brought them to the meeting.
“I’m someone who thinks I know a lot of things, but I know that there is so much more to learn,” group member Trisha from TM Content Collective said.
“I’m just keen to meet people, network and see where it takes me.”
“I work nowadays with women over 60 who have no voice, who are finding it difficult to stand up and speak out and be themselves,” group member Penelope said.
“I would like to ban the word invisible from the dictionary, certainly from women’s vocabulary.”
Group leader Sabine (Tia) Vine said the aim of the monthly networking meetings was to tell women “that they are worthy, that they have a voice, that they can stand up and that we are here to help and support them.”
“Women can support each other, women can encourage each other and women can make each other strong,” she said.
The group is one of almost 20 under the banner of We Rise Networking, an organisation that aims to connect and inspire like-minded business women.
Ms Vine welcomes all to the monthly network meetings.
