The Victorian Government is supporting regional Victorian communities to host fun and free educational activities and events as part of this year’s Children’s Week celebrations.
Member for Northern Victoria Mark Gepp encouraged not-for-profit organisations and local councils in northern Victoria to apply for grants to host a range of activities for children and their families during the annual celebration.
Children’s Week will be held from October 19 to 27 and will see thousands of Victorian children aged up to 12 taking part in the festivities.
Local councils and not-for-profit organisations are encouraged to participate, opening their doors to the community with a range of fun and educational open days, displays and special events.
Grants up to $1000 are available to host free activities which may include art exhibitions, outdoor or messy play activities, dance workshops, musical performances, picnics and sporting activities.
Applications for grants close on July 19 and can be applied for by visiting education.vic.gov.au/about/events/Pages/childrensweek
