The club held its annual come-and-try day on Sunday, July 27, which saw 40 community members become educated on safe firearm use.
While some were comfortable just sitting on the sidelines, others were able to complete a firearm safety course, a prerequisite for obtaining a firearm licence.
A safety briefing and a shooting demonstration kicked off the day, followed by a separation of participants into seven small groups.
Two committee members supervised each group, loading the firearms and giving instruction.
The Seymour Goulburn Lions Club aided the event with a community grant.

“Unfortunately, this is when the heavens opened and made the shooting conditions more difficult,” a committee spokesperson said.
“The participants weathered the rain and many successfully hit a few targets.
“All in all, the participants had a great time.”
A hot lunch and chat ended the event, where participants were provided with a club hat.
Twenty people then sat their firearm safety course.
The day was made possible by the Seymour Goulburn Lions Club, which provided Seymour Field and Game Inc with a community grant.
