Local talent takeover University of Melbourne Music Theatre production

Local talent John Sharp, Adeline Hunter, and Peter Lejins are taking over the University of Melbourne Music Theatre Association’s 2021 production of “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown”.

The University of Melbourne Music Theatre Association (UMMTA) is a student theatre organisation affiliated with the University of Melbourne and Union House Theatre.

John, Adeline, and Peter are no strangers to the spotlight, having been involved in numerous productions in Seymour and district.

John, originally from Kilmore, graduated from Assumption College in 2020 and now studies a Bachelor of Music in Composition and Technology at Monash University.

John has had extensive theatrical experience in school productions, Seymour Performers Workshop (SPW), Broadford Amateur Theatrical Society (BATS), and BATS Youth Theatre Entertainment (BYTE).

John is very familiar with the show itself, having directed a separate production of “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown” for SPW’s 2019 Youth Production.

He also received the Emerging Young Artist Grant at the 2020 Georgy Awards, and has now taken on the titular role of Charlie Brown.

Adeline is from Broadford and graduated from Assumption College in 2018 before commencing a Bachelor of Design at the University of Melbourne.

Like John, Adeline has been involved in numerous SPW, BATS, BYTE, and school productions, and also recently performed in the Young Australian Broadway Chorus’s production of “Cats” in the role of Rumpleteazer at the National Theatre Melbourne in St Kilda.

Adeline received the Achievement in Choreography Georgy Award for her work in SPW’s 2019 production of “Footloose” and will be playing the role of Lucy Van Pelt in this production.

Peter, originally from Seymour, graduated from the Kilmore International School in 2017 and is currently studying a Doctor of Medicine at the University of Melbourne.

In addition to school and SPW productions, Peter has been involved with the Victorian Opera Youth Chorus Ensemble (VOYCE), the Victorian Opera Youth Productions, and was in the children’s chorus of “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” at Her Majesty's Theatre.

Peter has been involved in other University of Melbourne shows, including “Into the Woods”, “Chicago”, and “Footloose”.

He also received the Emerging Young Artist Award at the Georgy Awards, and has taken on the role of Linus Van Pelt in UMMTA’s “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown”.

The production is on from May 13 to 16 at St Ambrose Hall in Brunswick.
