They’ve all had the mickey taken out of them in the 2026 Bald Archy Prize, and in this country, that’s a compliment.
This Sunday, October 11 is your last chance to see Australia’s iconic, satirical art prize, which taps into our signature larrikin.
In this 30th year, the Bald Archy received a record number of entries with the $10,000 prize awarded to artist, Mark Davis for his piece, Emperor Australis.
To see this and the other finalists while they are on show in Corowa, head to Corowa Art Space before the exhibition continues its journey around NSW and Victoria.
Just some of Corowa’s Bald Archy volunteers whose work makes it possible to bring the exhibition to town each year.
What have the visitors said?
"I came to check out the exhibition because it's better to laugh rather than cry at the state of Australian politics!"- John Neiberding, Albury
"It's something a bit different. We come down, have lunch, look around the gallery and then go for afternoon tea. So we make a day of it."- Susan Pitman, Albury visiting with her mother.
"We're here as part of a holiday and thought we'd come have a look, it's our first time seeing it. It's great that this town has the Bald Archy Prize. It's the lighter side of the Archibald Prize which is nice."- Jodie, Hunter Valley.
"It's good to see the artists sticking it to the pollies!" Scott, Hunter Valley.
